Paul
Raven, 46, a member of Killing Joke, Ministry and Godflesh in a career
that spanned some 25 years, died this past Saturday of an apparent
heart attack at a private residence in Geneva, Switzerland where he was
working with French industrial metal group Treponem Pal. Raven will
perhaps be best remembered for his role in the early '80s as bassist
for legendary British post-punk outfit Killing Joke, who also helped
bring industrial music more exposure. Raven also played with Prong,
Pigface and Zilch. He most recently appeared on Ministry's 2006 effort,
Rio Grande Blood (13th Planet), and on their subsequent tour.
A funeral is planned in the next couple of weeks, and fans are directed towards the
Killing Joke website for further information and where to send floral tributes.
