Foo Fighters Joined Onstage by Hero in Auckland

FOO FIGHTERS were joined onstage by JAZ COLEMAN of war-painted 80's noise merchants KILLING JOKE at their warm-up show for the BIG DAY OUT.

The Foos played a low-key show in front of 300 fans at the Galatos Club in Auckland, New Zealand on Thursday night (January 16) as they prepared for their appearance at the festival's opening fixture in Auckland tomorrow (January 17).

They were joined for their encore by Coleman, now resident in Auckland, for a version of Killing Joke's 'Requiem', a regular Foo Fighters cover.

Introducing Coleman - who was daubed in his trademark face-paint - Dave Grohl said Killing Joke had been one of his favourite bands growing up, and it was an honour to share the stage with Coleman.

They then launched into the song, with Coleman putting in his traditionally "barmy" performance, according to one eyewitness.
